Plankton

I love all things to do with marine life, but I am fascinated by plankton in particular. Plankton is an organism that floats passively in water and is carried from place to place by the currents.

The word Plankton is taken from the Greek word 'to wander', hence these organisms generally drift in the movements of water rather than swim.

Plankton range in size from microorganisms invisible to the naked eye to jellyfish measuring many centimeter long. Plankton can be classified into many different varieties, I particularly like 'porpita' pictured (right).

The shapes, forms and diverse transparent colours inspire my jewellery. I hope you like it.
